County Competitions Update

The BE County Competition entry window is now open on the Suffolk portal for Men's, Ladies and Mixed Competitions. As we're sure you are aware, the number of representatives that each County has at the BE National Finals in Royal Leamington Spa is dependent on competition entry numbers. Last year we found ourselves agonisingly short by just a few entries in some Competitions, and were then only permitted to send our County Champions. We had some exceptional players left back

Bryan Stannard

It is with great sadness that I share the news that Bryan, our former Greenkeeper and Honorary Life Member of Woodbridge Bowls Club, passed away peacefully last night. You are probably aware that Bryan was widely respected across the Suffolk bowls community, not only as a fine player in his day, but also as a dedicated Greenkeeper who generously offered his knowledge to several clubs. Chris Love

It is with great sadness that we have to inform you of the passing of Chris Love, the Hon. Secretary & Treasurer of the Suffolk Bowls (BE) Men's Triples League. Chris died suddenly on Friday evening. We know he had not been well but this was totally unexpected and is a great shock to his mother, Joyce, who is very much in our thoughts. 2026 County Competitions

The County competition portal is now open for 2026 Men's and Mixed competitions and will remain open until 31 January 2026. The Ladies entries will follow shortly when some remaining queries have been resolved.
