The Quinton Bowl is regarded as the Club Championship of the County and Sunday's Quinton Bowl Semi-Finals and Final were held at Marlborough BC against a threat of incoming heavy rain.
In the morning semi-finals Borough of Eye BC beat Haughley PFBC 90 - 55 and Ipswich BC eased past Felixstowe & Suffolk BC by a score of 59 - 50.
In an effort to beat the incoming weather, the final was started earlier with the agreement of both captains.
Borough of Eye start brightly, leading by 10 shots at the end of 5 ends. By 10 ends the lead has reduced to 3 shots and by the time we hit 15 ends, Ipswich have a slender 1 point lead.
The last 3 ends are a tense affair with a number of pressure shots, made or missed, until at 18 ends Ipswich BC finally run out 3 point winners with a score line of 65 - 62.
And the rain? Apart from some small showers outbreaks, the games and presentation were unaffected by rain
