With the Norton Cup being played at an alternative venue, the morning semi-finals saw Borough of Eye beat Cornard 40 – 22 while Norbridge held out against a late comeback by Felixstowe and Suffolk to win 35 – 33
The afternoon finals got of to a steady start with Borough of Eye gradually building a good lead over Norbridge. Drama developed as Eye skip Andrew Drummond killed an end to save dropping six shots only to be outdone by the appearance of thunder and lightning causing everyone to leave the green as the heavens’ opened.
After a rain break play resumed, the final ends were played and Borough of Eye ran out winners 36 – 28.
A thoroughly entertaining match played in the right spirit by both teams. Well done to all!
