County Competitions Update

The BE County Competition entry window is now open on the Suffolk portal for Men's, Ladies and Mixed Competitions.

As we're sure you are aware, the number of representatives that each County has at the BE National Finals in Royal Leamington Spa is dependent on competition entry numbers. Last year we found ourselves agonisingly short by just a few entries in some Competitions, and were then only permitted to send our County Champions. We had some exceptional players left back in Suffolk simply due to entry numbers.

It would be great if we can increase our entries for 2026. If you - or any of your teammates - are 'on the fence' or reluctant then we would encourage you / them to 'give it a go'. We understand that the calendar is getting increasingly packed with domestic and league games (which is obviously a positive for our glorious game), but Competitions are our chance to showcase our wonderful Suffolk bowlers to the wider Country. It would be such a positive boost if we could send two representatives in everything.

We are in contact with some of the other Competition Secretaries across the Country and have been told that some have already seen an increase in nearly all of their Competitions for 2026 - and some by as much as 47%!

Our remit is to maximise entries, so constructive and well presented feedback is welcomed. We will always endeavour to look at positive changes for the good of the County.
