September 7th saw the culmination of the Men’s Triples League season at
Borough of Eye BC.
After beating their semi-final opponents, Laxfield BC and Stanton BC, the afternoon session saw home green Borough of Eye BC take on last season’s runners-up Thurlton BC ‘A’ for the East Anglian Daily Times Shield.
Thurlton were quick out of the blocks, straight into a six point lead but Borough of Eye fought their way back into the game going into a six point lead of their own by the fifth end. This wasn’t to last long as Thurlton immediately broke back in the sixth end, taking ten points across the four rinks for a 25 - 21 lead.
Thurlton continued to press their advantage until the lead was eleven points by the tenth end. Eye fought back again to reduce the deficit to a single point at fourteen ends but this was to be their last effort as Thurlton eased ahead again to eventually run out winners by a score of 67 – 59. Congratulations to both teams on a well fought final, especially to Thurlton 'A' for regaining the EADT Shield. Their loss to Cornard in the 2024 final was their only League defeat in the past three seasons
