Haughley Playing Field Bowls Club are The Norton Cup Champions!

What a way to finish an incredible season! Haughley have come through a closely fought Norton Cup Final against the defending champions Borough of Eye, eventually securing the title with an overall score of 36–23.

But this isn’t just another trophy for the cabinet…

Haughley Playing Field Bowls Club have today made Suffolk Bowls history — becoming the first club to win ALL FOUR County Cup titles in the same season!

Bert Edwards Trophy, Queen Elizabeth II Millennium Trophy, Quinton Bowl & Norton Cup

An extraordinary achievement that firmly cements Haughley’s name into the history books of Suffolk Bowls!

And while Haughley have achieved something truly remarkable, a special mention must go to Marlborough Bowls Club, who set the benchmark in 1976. Marlborough won the three County Cups available at the time — the Bert Edwards, Quinton Bowl and Norton Cup — alongside the League Shield, making them the first and, until now, only club to complete that feat in a single season!

The Millennium Trophy, as it was originally known, was introduced in 2000, bringing the number of County Cups to four.

Fast forward to 2026… Exactly 50 years after Marlborough's historic achievements, Haughley have now completed the set and written a new chapter in Suffolk Bowls history!
