Queen Elizabeth ll Millennium Trophy

The winners of yesterday's semi-finals, current holders Haughley Playing Fields BC and Felixstowe & Suffolk BC, battled out an exciting final under an overcast sky at Roundwood BC

Felixstowe took an early lead with John Rednall beating off the challenge of Haughley's Matt Smith 14 - 11 in the 2 Bowl Singles. Then in a short space of time, we had Jamie Gill's pair winning a tight game for Haughley against Elliott Last's combo 13-12, Stuart Gaught's triple edging out Adrian Holden's set 17 - 16 for another Haughley win and Clive Webb leading the Felixstowe four to victory over Dean Tricker's Haughley block

So, with level scores, the match rested on the 4 bowl singles between Felixstowe's Charlie Beeton and Kevin Rolfe from Haughley. After being behind in the early stages, Charlie fought his way back into the game to take the lead and, despite a fight back from Kevin, pushed on to take the game 21 - 16 and seal the match win for Felixstowe and Suffolk 3 - 2

A thoroughly entertaining match to round off the County outdoor bowling season
