We am extremely saddened to share the news that Percy Rowe has passed away.
Percy dedicated many years to the game of Bowls and generated a huge amount of respect within the game.
As a player with Debenham he competed at the highest domestic levels, where he played in, and managed, Suffolk's most successful Middleton Cup campaigns of recent years.
Percy dedicated many years to Suffolk Bowls in many different roles, and this was rightly honoured by Bowls England with him being awarded their Unsung Hero award in 2021, as he was fondly referred to as 'Mr Suffolk'.
Whilst Percy's time playing came to an end before he joined Eye as a social member, his love of the game and support of his girls did not diminish one bit as he was often seen around the greens encouraging Joanne, Amy and Kirsty in any games that they played.
Much more than bowls, Percy's dedication to his family was unwavering.
Our thoughts are with Joanne, Kirsty, Amy, Mark and Janet at this very difficult time.
