Back in February we were delighted to tell you all that Malcolm Grimwood, the long serving member of Boxford & District BC, had been awarded the prestigious Bowls England Certificate of Merit
Fast forward to July and Suffolk President Mike Walker led a Suffolk team to play Boxford in a President’s Match at their lovely ground, which gave Mike the opportunity to present Malcolm with his award in person.
Presenting him with the Certificate, along with some wine and glasses as a gift from the County, Mike congratulated Malcolm on his achievement and his service to the club. In accepting, Malcolm related some of his memories of those times.
With the formalities over, play commenced under a cloudy but dry sky and the day concluded as these games against Boxford have developed a habit of doing – with wonderful company, great refreshments and a match that ends in an honourable draw!
