What a fantastic display of grit and determination was shown at West End BC in the Essex V Suffolk Johns game on Saturday.
Suffolk could be forgiven for thinking that there was nothing to play for after the defeat against Cambridgeshire 2 weeks ago. However how wrong we were, despite the wind, rain, hail and occasional bright sunshine Suffolk fought to the very end, final score 120-119 to Essex.
This was definitely a game to build for the future with Suffolk’ s biggest winning margin coming from the rink of youngsters Jemimah Andrew- Smith, Chelsea Turner, Ella Baker and Chloe Coleman.
Jemimah and her sister Zoe were playing in their first (and clearly not their last) Johns game and along with Georgie Sharp, all members of the Amy Rose team, have a great future ahead.
Sadly the result does mean that Suffolk are not in contention for winning the group and therefore it is unlikely that the game on 6th July will go ahead.
