Haughley Playing Fields Win Quinton Bowl

Haughley Playing Field Bowls Club have done it again! Today they sealed the Quinton Bowl title, making it a remarkable THREE County Cup victories so far this season!
Already crowned winners of the Queen Elizabeth II Trophy and the Bert Edwards, Haughley have now added the Quinton Bowl to their collection and they’re showing no signs of slowing down!
After two closely contested semi-finals, both Haughley and Norbridge pulled away in the closing ends to complete 18-shot victories over Cornard and Bramford respectively, our teams made their way to Marlborough Bowls Club for the final!
Played in good spirits, Haughley carried their momentum into the showpiece and ultimately proved too strong for Norbridge.
The rink of Aidan Riches, Roger Fosker, Carl Riches & Stuart Gaught were outstanding from the very first end, racing into a 20–2 lead after just seven ends before going on to record a huge 44–4 victory!
Norbridge battled hard and took one rink, with the remaining two rinks closely contested but ultimately going in Haughley’s favour.
Sunday sees the Norton Cup Semi-Finals & Final, with Haughley having their eyes firmly set on making it a fourth and final County Cup title!
