What a wonderful end to the B.E. Mixed Fours league season we enjoyed at
Sproughton B.C. on Sunday 25th August. We were blessed with a lovely late summer day, though the rain from the previous day did make the green somewhat heavy to start. Nevertheless, credit must be given to the greenkeepers at Sproughton for their hard work and making sure the final was played on a surface which took a little time to come to terms with for the bowlers and ensured a competitive match for the final.
Congratulations must be extended to both Felixstowe & Suffolk Blue and Rookery for their achievement in reaching the final from which F&S Blue emerged victorious with a 53 – 41 win allowing them to retain the trophy which seems to have become a permanent feature in their trophy cabinet.
Thanks must also be conveyed to Kate Sarginson, the Sproughton club captain for her hard work in arranging and co-ordinating for the club to host the semi finals and final and the helpers in the bar and kitchen for the catering and liquid refreshments.
We hope to see every club that entered the Mixed Fours submit a team for the 2025 competition as well as many more
