DEREK NEWBY

Derek Newby of Halesworth passed away on 25 December 2023 at the age of 99 years.

Derek was a Past President of Suffolk County (EBA) Bowling Association, holding office in 1994, as well as being President of his own club Halesworth Angel BC

As well as bowls, Derek had a passion for the history of Halesworth and the games of Lawn Tennis and Bridge. There will be a Thanksgiving Service for the life of Derek at Halesworth United Reform Church on Saturday 27 January 2024 followed by a wake at Halesworth Golf Club. Donations in Derek’s memory will be in aid of the East Anglian Air Ambulance and Halesworth Museum
