The Eastern Regional Final of the Amy Rose Bowl was held at Hemingford BC, Huntingdon yesterday with the winners booking a place at the National Finals.

In this competition Counties that can't raise a team of five Under 24 players are allowed to combine with another County. This meant our young Suffolk side faced a combined Cambs/Hunts/Norfolk team in their opening game going down 21 - 3 in sessions 1 & 2.

Sessions 3 & 4 was against Essex and the girls got themselves back into contention with a good 18 - 6 victory but the combined counties team only needed 5 points to secure progression from the group which they just about managed, going down to Essex 7 - 16.

Final group placings were Combined Counties 28 pts, Essex 22 pts, Suffolk 21 pts

All in all, a good try by our youngsters and hopefully the experience will stand them in good stead for future events
