Ladies Two Bowl Singles Semi-Finalists

Under sunny skies last Saturday, the ladies of Suffolk enjoyed participating in the two bowl Singles competition at Hadleigh Bowling Club. Many thanks to Hadleigh for hosting this event and providing markers.

Only two rounds were required to be played before four ladies reached the semi-finals:

Pat Jolly vs Moira Self

Julie Spice vs Gillian Barnes

The first round produced some really exciting matches. Pat Jolly and Nayara Drummond were only one shot apart throughout their game, Pat winning eventually by 13 shots to 12.  Two more nail-biting matches were Moira Self winning 15-14 against Lucy Ratcliffe and Julie Spice beating Fiona Cadman 13-12.

Hopefully next year there will be more entries in our competitions which would result in two teams representing Suffolk at the national finals at Leamington. This year we have just missed out in three competitions and a few more entries would make all the difference.
