It gives us great pleasure to inform you all that Malcolm Grimwood from Boxford & District Bowls Club has been awarded the Bowls England Certificate of Merit. This is Bowls England’s most prestigious award and is equivalent to a Lifetime Achievement Award. It recognises that Malcolm has made an outstanding contribution to bowls both at Club and County level over many decades.
At the end of last year he retired as Secretary and Competitions Secretary of Boxford after 35 years in the roles although he still continues his role as greenkeeper which he has done for a similar period. He first joined Boxford in 1960 aged 14 and since then has won a number of County titles including being a regular member of the Middleton Cup squad for Suffolk in the 1990’s.
